Brave German Shepherd Defends Home and Maltipoo from Coyote Attack
This is truly a heroic German shepherd!
Juliah Taylor was sitting at home one evening when a bonded pair—a German shepherd and her Maltipoo "brother," Prince—were relaxing in their yard. A pack of three coyotes managed to jump the 7-foot fence in to get in. In a flash, the shepherd defended her tiny sibling by barking loudly, alerting her owner Juliah Taylor, and, very bravely, going around the coyotes. Thank God, Taylor had enough time to get the two dogs inside before the situation got worse.
Prince did get a couple of serious cuts, though, which required him emergency surgery. Because of his elder sister's courageous move, Prince is doing well back home now. Taylor mentioned a huge thank you while saying that it is also a big relief to have him still because we still need to get over so many long days of recovery; still, our baby is very strong.
Emergency Pet Care When Do I Call for Help?
This is a situation that shows you must know when it's an emergency to go visit a vet. The following are clear signs that indicate your pet needs to visit the doctor right away.
• Trouble urinating or defecating
• Passing out
• Seizing
• Panting harder than usual
Emergency vet services are usually a bit pricey because of 24/7 staff and specialized equipment, but insurance for your pet will be able to help you manage that cost far better. It's even good to know where the nearest emergency clinic is located, just in case.
This German shepherd showed us all the true meaning of sibling loyalty, especially with such incredible courage.
